A mother and father are fighting back tears over the day Justin “Baby Daddy” Bieber’s family filed a lawsuit accusing him of abusing them over the past three years.
The parents, who have not been identified in court documents, filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., last week.
The lawsuit alleges that in 2014, Justin Bieber, then 18, invited his family to dinner at his New York home and sexually assaulted them while he was in the kitchen, according to court documents.
“We’re in a lot of pain,” the parents told The Associated Press.
“He took advantage of us.
I’m so upset.
We are trying to get the whole world to understand what’s going on, but we’re just really, really hurting.”
Justin Bieber was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor sexual assault in July and released on $25,000 bail.
He remains in custody and has not been charged with a crime.
The suit also accuses Justin of engaging in “frequent and repeated” physical and verbal abuse of the parents, and accuses him of using social media to “engage in voyeuristic and sexual misconduct.”
The parents told the AP that they did not feel comfortable sharing the case with the public until their lawyers agreed to the lawsuit.
“It’s not that we don’t want the public to know, but this is a case we don and can’t share,” they said.
“Justin was not involved in the conduct.
He did not do it.”
They also said that their son did not have access to pornography or sexually explicit materials, and that they “were not aware of any prior allegations against him.”
In August, a jury found Justin Bieber guilty of four counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of sexual assault.
He was sentenced to 10 days in jail, five years of probation and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.
Justin Bieber did not speak at the sentencing.
He had no comment to the Associated Press on Friday.
“This is a terrible day for our family,” the mothers said.
The AP has reached out to Justin Bieber for comment.
